Our History

In the mid-17th Century the leading ministers of the Presbyterian Churches of England and Scotland assembled at the Westminster Abbey to prepare a summary statement of the key doctrines of the Christian Faith.  What they wrote has become known as the Westminster Confession of Faith.  The men who wrote it believed that all of life belongs to God and can only be understood properly and lived successfully in the light of the Bible which He has given us.  These are the same beliefs which motivated the founders of Grace Christian School.

COPCCovenant Presbyterian Church in San Jose sponsors Grace Christian School by providing classroom space, financial support, and general oversight.

Our private school began in 1988 in order to provide a Christ-centered education for the children of our church families.  Once the school started, it soon became apparent that other families wanted the kind of education that Grace Christian School provided. Therefore, students have been accepted from many backgrounds, provided that their parents understand the distinctive nature and particular objectives of Grace Christian School.  Students from a wide variety of South Bay churches have attended Grace Christian School, but the school is not compelled to accept every child who submits an application.

Each family admitted must have at least one parent or guardian who is an active member of an evangelical church.
